Hi there, TVK! It's just about two weeks to the full moon, and I come bearing news of an event!


Magician

This month's event is going to be the Magician! A Major Arcana card, the Magician represents (among other things) taking action, concentrating and/or experiencing power.

What does this mean for you?

Effective 11:59PM EST, November 14th, characters in Prospero will start to notice old and familiar abilities coming back to them. They start as little blips of power, before getting progressively stronger and easier control near the end of the week. Or if a character had a magic weapon of some sort, that starts to slowly regain it's powers. And for characters who never had powers before now, they start to slowly gain new abilities of their own. And while characters gain powers, their bodies will still remain human.

However, at the end of the first week on November 21st, at 11:59pm EST, all powers characters would have gotten back or gained will suddenly start to act out of control. They stop working for a while or activate on their own and act out violently, and characters will have difficulty in gaining control over them. This will continue until the Full Moon on November 28th, where characters will then lose any regained or new abilities.

And that's where signups come in! If your character doesn't have any powers in their canon, post in the thread below with your character's name/journal, and the kind of power you would want them to have, just so the mods can check over it.

The deadline for power signups is 11PM, November 14th.

In the Dark Hour starting 11:59 PM EST, November 28th, a large Shadow, the Magician Shadow, will appear in front of the police station, and will be accompanied by a horde of smaller Shadows, which will all take place in a boss fight log. In order to defeat the Magician Shadow, characters will need to group together in groups of 3 or more and work together to defeat it.

If a character has non-human features during the Dark Hour, such as wings, will they be able to use the powers of those features, such as flying, during the Dark Hour?

Will that count as a power for the purposes of 'has no powers in canon'?

If that's the power you'd like your character to have, they're welcome to have it.

I'm going to say not automatically, no.

Issei Ryudo (unknownrival) will have a 'normalcy field' of sorts extending to two feet around him. Neither Shadows nor Personas can enter, and all supernatural abilities fizzle out upon contact.

Ryuunosuke Uryuu (kindofademon) will be able to sacrifice his HP to deal higher damage with his Persona. The more HP, the more damage.

V/V (heavenscorpse) will have the ability to break the fourth wall.

For characters who have multiple powers in canon, do they get all of their powers back or just one?

David Xanatos (just_as_planned) will be able to control people's physical age, including himself.

If characters have multiple powers, they can have all of them back or just one. It's up to the player.

Saori Nakagawa will be getting most of her powers back:
-Smoke constructing: able to telekinetically manipulate smoke, meaning she can shape it to whatever she needs although she's limited with the amount of smoke she has.
-Enhanced strength: It'll be countered by the fact she'll have to eat more.

Shizuo'll be getting his SCREW-EVERYTHING-I-AM-THROWING-THINGS up to eleven, along with his inhuman endurance.

Assassin and Archer will be getting their Servant power again. Except there're around little to none because they're quite the losers lmao.

If a character normally needs an item to transform/use their powers, and they haven't regained said item, can they still use that power?

Gaignun here will regain his canon powers, IE hypnotic voice (which is a very watered down jedi mind trick and can be will saved against), and mental static where the URTV link should be (because I'm mean)

When his powers go out of control, he's going to have to wander around in dark sunglasses and communicate only in text. I would give him his last canon power back but...that wouldn't be pretty when it goes out of control.

EDIT! Is it possible to get some of his URTV upgrades like power, speed, and resilience enhancements? They aren't much but they're kinda half mental/biological.

Yes, he can get his URTV upgrades back, though he would still be considered human. Just a human with upgrades.
