EVENT TIME

My my, now that was a mild month. But the time to relax has come and gone, and the real fun's about to begin.

This past full moon, characters were treated to a surprise of no large shadows and no big fights. Instead they got a blocked off dungeon and a few slips of paper telling them to rest in peace. Oh, and some free cups of water. In October, they're going to get to see just what they were being warned to rest up for.

Starting tonight, the night of the new moon, a few things are going to happen. 1) The dungeon has finally unblocked a few more levels to be explored, along with some new shadows to fight. Meaning, Third Block is open!!

On this block characters may encounter the Dancing Hands and Calm Peces of the previous blocks along with:

Phantom King: Hermit Arcana. They are weak to physical attacks, block light, lightening and almighty.

Brave Wheel: Chariot Arcana. Weak to ice and water, absorbs fire and reflects strike. They are the most common in this area.



2) People around the city start going missing. From now until October 12th, normal Prospero citizens are disappearing off the streets. But they turn back up. Dead. After being missing for 72 hours the missing citizens start turning up around the outskirts of the island, all having seeming died natural causes. And strangely it seems that communications with anyone off the island are starting to mess up. This means by Monday, dead people are showing up on the shores. This will continue to happen every three days until over a third of the city is turning up deceased. For reference, this means:

Friday-Sunday: Kidnappings
Monday: Bodies
Tuesday-Thursday: Kidnappings
Friday: Bodies
Saturday-Sunday: Kidnappings


Monday, the 10th, breaks the chain. All those kidnapped and dead souls, suddenly show back up as being very much alive. Naturally, there is chaos everywhere since dead people usually don't just walk off the embalming table in mass droves. The victims just sort of go through the motions of like now that they'd back awake. They move slowly, can't seem to form proper words, or really be able to think for themselves. They can follow simple commands but are generally acting like zombies who aren't after brains. By now it is impossible to get a line of communication off the island and the ferries don't seem to be able to run...

Or at least, that's how they act during the day. When the dark hour falls on the 12th, characters may be surprised to see these victims walking around, quite quickly for someone doing the zombie shuffle just hours before, without being in a coffin. And they will attack anything they see move. During the night, they're fast, stronger than a human has the right to be, and very, very intent on seeing you die.

This continues until Saturday the 15th, when the victims' deadly behavior doesn't go away after the previous night's Dark Hour. All during the day, these half dead citizens will be swarming the streets, attacking everyone in sight. That night, anyone surviving will be greeted with the Death Arcana appearing in front of the hotel, ready for a brawl.

Once Death is defeated, the zombie-citizens will stop. As in actually just freeze and keep standing there until the first light of morning. Once morning comes instead of the panic one would assume the city would be in, things will have suddenly went back to normal. Every natural citizen killed or affected during the last few weeks will be perfectly fine, no one will have heard of any attacks or killings, and the past weeks newspapers will be suspiciously missing the articles covering these stories. Communications and transportation will be working normally again.

In fact, other than any PC killed during this time, it will all be as though it never happened. It makes one wonder just what's really going on around here....

He'll also probably do something incredibly stupid like try not to damage the bodies too badly when fighting them off if it's at all avoidable.

Hmm... probably a silly question, but are PCs targeted by the kidnapping/zombie-ing combo? Don't see anything in the post that says a thing about that either way.
